New Message Tool

Use the New Message Tool to send emails and texts from MinistryPlatform.

  • You can open the New Message Tool from the My Messages tab on your Home page or from the Actions menu on any page or tab where it's enabled.

  • Use a selection to gather your Recipients before you open the tool. Or, you can select your Recipients using the search function inside the tool. If you're starting a message from a tab, you may want to select the records before opening the tool, especially when you're messaging contacts from a specific sub-page view (like Active or Registered).
  • Depending on your Security Roles and Mass Email Quota, you can select whether to send an email or text message.

  • Each Contact receives a unique email and can't see who else received the email.
  • The Audit Log records and creates Message and Recipient records.
Note: Not seeing the New Message Tool? Check your staff's Security Roles to make sure they can send messages. The Mass Email Quota for at least one of their Security Roles should be greater than zero. Also, confirm that the Contact ID field is available on the page they try to send a message from.
