Reset User Security Tool

Learn about the Reset User Security tool in MinistryPlatform, including instructions to use the tool.

If a user shares their personal link, you can invalidate it by resetting their security.

  • With the Reset User Security tool, you can reset the user and contact GUIDs on specific records.
Note: A GUID is a globally unique identifier that is specific to each record.
  • This tool invalidates any previously saved auto-logins to protect users if someone shares their personalized link.
  • You can launch the tool from Administration > Users or Contacts pages using a selection of records or an open record.
  • The audit log for both the user and contact records display updates made by the API on behalf of the user.
Note: To use this tool, you must have access through your security role. SPoCs can grant user access to this tool.
