Contact Log Tool

Learn more about the Contact Log tool, including instructions to add contact log information with the tool.

With the Contact Log tool, you can quickly add a contact log record for one or more people.

  • The Contact Log tool is optimized for mobile, so you can capture contacts as they happen.
  • When launched from a selection of records, the Contact Log tool adds the same contact log entry to each selected contact record. When you launch the tool from an open record, you can enter a contact log entry for that contact.
  • No matter how you launch the tool, you can also search for the appropriate contact. Available search results display and update as you type.
  • The Contact Made By field autofills with the contact of the person launching the tool, but you can update the information in the field. Select from a list of people with at least one security role or the unassigned caller.
Note: The Contact Log tool uses the security access of the person who originally logged in. It does not take on the security access of impersonated users.
  • After saving, you can apply the contact log details you entered to another contact.
  • Information logged through the Contact Log tool is stored on in the contact record under the Contact Log tab and under Communications > Contact Log.
  • The contact log date defaults to the current date and time, even if you select a past or future date.
  • To use the Contact Log tool to update restricted or secured records, include them in a selection and launch the tool from that selection.
Note: The Contact Log tool will not autofill the search area with a secured record.
