What would you like to know more about?

BMT Configuration

You can use the Batch Manager Tool from any machine with internet access. However, using a scanner with the Batch Manager Tool requires a Windows 10 (Pro or Enterprise) or 11 machine with Microsoft .NET 4.5.2 installed to use the Batch Manager Scanning Service.

Security Roles

Important: Do not edit these security roles. Doing so could cause the Batch Manager Tool to not recognize the security roles and not work properly.

To log in to Batch Manager Tool, you need one of the following Security Roles for your User account in MinistryPlatform:

  • Batch Manager Administrators: Can see, edit, and finalize all un-finalized Batches.
  • Batch Manager Operators: Can only see, edit, and finalize un-finalized Batches that they created or are assigned to (including Batches that haven't been assigned to anyone).

Global Filters

If Users only work with specific Congregations, you can limit their access to these Congregations through Global Filters. Any Global Filters applied affect both the Platform and the Batch Manager Tool. Global Filter access is cumulative, meaning if you grant a User access to three Congregations, they see data related to any and all of those Congregations. Global Filters impact the following areas in the Batch Manager Tool:

  • Congregations or Programs are available when you create, edit, or import a Batch.
  • Batches are visible when you open a Batch.
Note: To see Batches not assigned to a Congregation, grant Global Filter *Not Assigned.
  • Programs or Events available when you assign Donation Distributions.
Important: If you open a Batch with Donations that are already assigned to Programs or Events outside of the current User's Global Filters, those Programs and Events are visible as Distribution options for those Donations only.

Scanning Service

The first time you log in to the Batch Manager Tool on a machine, you'll see the Scanner Not Ready screen.

Image showing the Scanner Not Ready dialog box.

For manual entry, you don't need to install, so you can click No Scanner. To use a check scanner to speed up processing and capture images, follow the instructions to do so.

Note: If you already installed the Scanning Service and receive the "Scanner Not Ready" message, the Scanning Service has been removed, disabled, or was not installed by a local admin. You'll need to walk through the initial configuration steps again.
