Finalizing a Batch

Before finalizing, you can always close a Batch and come back to it later:

  • To close an open Batch, click Close.
  • To reopen a Batch, from the Batch Manager Tool, click Open and choose your Batch to continue working.

Confirm the Batch is in Balance

A summary of your Batch properties and the Donation details is in the top right-hand corner of the Batch Manager Tool. This visually indicates if your batch is in balance. To balance, you might need to add the remaining Donations to the Batch, correct Donation amounts, or adjust your Batch properties.

Confirm the Batch Details are Complete

Your Donation rows visually indicate if they are complete. Green rows show that you have all the required details (Donor, Dollars, and Distributions). Red rows show that you're missing some required details or they're out of balance and you need to edit them.

Review the Batch Summary

You can find detailed Reports in the Platform, but to quickly check subtotals, click Summary in the top-right corner of the Batch Manager Tool.

Finalize the Batch

Once you complete and balance your Batch, the Finalize button activates. To finalize the Batch, click Finalize.

Note: Once you finalize a Batch, it is no longer be available in the Batch Manager Tool. You must perform all future interaction within MinistryPlatform. Batches created in the Batch Manager Tool appear in the Platform under the Batches noun. It is important to note that the default view on the Batches data grid shows batches that have not been finalized. If the you finalized Batches created through the Batch Manager Tool, change the view to 2. Ready to Deposit to see those Batches.
