PocketPlatform - November 2024
Push Notifications
- Schedule push notifications for later delivery! Have you ever wanted to send a push notification, but you look at the time and realize it's really early or late? Now, using the Send Push Notification tool, you can set the date and time you want the notification to be delivered.Note: The push notifications network is not instantaneous. It may take up to 15 minutes after the scheduled time for notifications to be delivered to devices. Take this into consideration when scheduling.Tip: This functionality was applied automatically via API Service updates, so you can take advantage of this feature right now. Go take a look!
Events
- Fixed an issue where the Register button was displaying for events with a Registration Start date in the future and no Registration End date. Now, the button only displays for events that have a Registration Start date in the past and are not currently happening.
FastPass
- FastPass in PocketPlatform now works exactly like Check-In Suite in MinistryPlatform when it comes to other households. Contacts with an Other Household relationship that has been end dated will no longer display for check-in via FastPass. Only the Household Type that you've set for CIM, ShowsInCheckinHHTypeID will display.
Giving
- We improved the experience for a rare scenario related to the OnlineGiving.Org integration for PocketPlatform. Let's say you manually created a user in MinistryPlatform, and you didn't enter an email address on their Contact record. If that user then logged in to the app and clicked the Giving link, they were seeing an error. The app was not able to pass their information to OnlineGiving.Org because an email address is required. Now, instead of seeing an error, the user is sent to the giving website as a guest donor.Tip: We recommend every user have an email address listed on their Contact record. To find users who don't have an email address, go to and select the Fix: No Contact Email (Excludes Deceased) view.
Passwords
- In the Platform, you can set password complexity. Now, PocketPlatform matches those rules!
- We enhanced the My Profile screen to show the password requirements. If app users create or update their password but don't meet the requirements, a message displays so they know what they need to do. You can customize this message using the application label for oauth.passwordComplexity.
Sermons
- We're doing spring cleaning... in November! There were some fields on the Sermons and Sermon Link pages that PocketPlatform has never —and will never— use. So, we've deprecated those fields and hidden them via field management. Those include Service Type, Use In Audio Podcast, Use In Video Podcast, File Size, and File Units.
