Volunteer Connect

Attention: *EA feature in testing*: This section is under construction while our wonderful Early Adopters try things out!

Volunteer Connect provides an efficient way for volunteer coordinators and team leaders to schedule and manage volunteer teams. Scheduled volunteers can then see and respond to upcoming assignments.

  • Volunteer coordinators can create team schedules tied to events so they can track volunteers serving in different roles on their team. They can attach files and share information with their team.
  • Team leaders can see who accepts or declines serving assignments, keep up with compliance requirements, and communicate with their team — all within Volunteer Connect.
  • Volunteers can see their upcoming assignments and sign up for open opportunities (if allowed).
  • Platform administrators can distinguish between serving groups and non-serving groups. They can keep an eye on overall volunteer activity via MinistryPlatform. (See Volunteer Management.)
  • A group can display in either Volunteer Connect or Group Life, but not both. This is determined by the Volunteer Group field on the Group record.
  • Once a schedule is published, the records created via Volunteer Connect can be found in the Platform under the Volunteer Management section.

Sections

When a leader or volunteer logs in to Volunteer Connect, their dashboard shows the following:
Once you click a team, the following tabs display:
  • Info: Dynamic display of information about the volunteer group, including leaders and description. The next upcoming schedule date also displays, with the number of roles filled and an option to view details.
  • Volunteers: Toggle between all active and inactive volunteers. Displays their contact information (if available/shared), any compliance alerts, their Group Role, and last served date. If there's an image attached to their Contact record, you can see that, too! Leaders can send messages and remove selected volunteers from the group.
  • Events/Schedules: Leaders can see upcoming events for this volunteer group. They can create a schedule for events and manage all the details of that schedule.
