Volunteer Connect Attendance

Attention: *EA feature in testing*: This section is under construction while our wonderful Early Adopters try things out!

On the Attendance tab for each team, leaders can see the schedules for recent events and their attendance totals. Using this feature, you can identify volunteers who were scheduled to serve and those who showed up, which can help with your volunteer engagement metrics.

When you open a schedule's attendance, you can see each volunteer along with their role, attendance, and any applicable notes. Leaders can mark volunteers as present or not, add notes, edit attendance, and remove dates.

Mark Attendance

  • You must be a volunteer coordinator or leader to do this.
  1. In Volunteer Connect, open the team you want to mark attendance for.
  2. On the Attendance tab, locate the appropriate schedule and event.
  3. To mark attendance for a schedule/event marked as Unmarked, click the Schedule Date.
    The attendance list displays.
  4. As volunteers show up, select the checkbox beside their name. If needed, enter any relevant notes.
  5. When you're ready to mark the selected volunteers as "Present", click Save Attendance.
    Attendance is saved, and the date and time reflect your last update.

    You can continue marking attendance, move to the previous or next event, or go back to the Attendance tab.

Additional options for attendance:
  1. From the attendance list, you can also do the following:
    • What if a volunteer who wasn't scheduled shows up?

      To add an extra volunteer to the event list, click Add Volunteer at the top of the attendance list.

    • What if a volunteer is on the list but wasn't supposed to be scheduled (and is, therefore, not "Not Present")?

      To remove a volunteer who shouldn't be at the event, click the ellipsis icon three horizontal dots on their row in the attendance list, and select Remove Volunteer. Click Remove to confirm your action.

  2. From the Attendance tab, you can also do the following:
    • Need to change attendance you've already marked for an event?

      From the Attendance tab, click the ellipsis icon three horizontal dots on the event's row, and select Edit Attendance. Make any necessary changes, then click Save Attendance.

    • Need to remove an event date from a schedule?

      From the Attendance tab, click the ellipsis icon three horizontal dots on the event's row, and select Remove Date. Confirm that you're removing the correct date, then click Yes, Remove.
