Volunteer Schedule Roles
A brief overview on volunteer scheduled roles in MinistryPlatform, including fields you'll encounter and what they mean.
When a volunteer coordinator adds who they need to a schedule in Volunteer Connect, MinistryPlatform adds a schedule role record for each role on the schedule. This record includes information about the role for the event.
Schedule Role Fields
- Schedule
- The schedule that contains this role.
- Group Role
- The group role selected in Volunteer Connect as being needed for the associated schedule.
- Number of Volunteers
- The number of volunteers entered in Volunteer Connect as being needed for this particular role in the associated schedule. This is not the total number of volunteers for the entire schedule.
- Start Time
- The time selected in Volunteer Connect to indicate when the volunteer needs to arrive to serve in this role for the event. This can be anytime before the event actually begins. For example, teachers may need to arrive 30 minutes before the event to set up their classroom.
- End Time
- The time selected in Volunteer Connect to indicate when the volunteer's responsibilities in this role end for the event. This can be anytime after the event actually ends. For example, the cleanup team may need to stay 30 minutes after the event to clean up.
- Notes
- Optional notes that provide more information about this schedule role.
- Role Label
- An optional label to customize how the role displays on a schedule in Volunteer Connect. For example, you might have a group role defined as "Teacher". But when volunteers sign up, you'll want them to see which grades they'll need to teach for the schedule. So, you can enter role labels of "1st Grade Teacher", "2nd Grade Teacher", and so on.
