Family & Care Notes

With Family Care Notes, you can make quick notes to follow up on an action for a specific family. Log Family Care Notes through the Check-In Kiosk and view them in the Household Care Log page in MinistryPlatform.

Initial Setup

A SPoC must complete one-time initial setup in order to utilize Family Note functionality. Go to Administration then Configuration Settings, and update the following settings:

CIM, FamilyNoteCareContact
The Contact ID assigned to all Family Notes created by Check-In.
CIM, FamilyNoteCareOutcomeID
The Care Outcome given to all Family Notes created by Check-In.
CIM, FamilyNoteCareTypeID
The Care Type given to all Family Notes created by Check-In.

Access Family Notes

You can find Family Notes entered during Check-In Kiosk in the Household Care Log page of MinistryPlatform. To follow-up on these Family Notes, you must have access to the Household Care Log page. Alternatively, a SPoC could create a filtered page that gathers all the Family Notes to one page and does not show the other Household Care Log entries. This helps maintain confidentiality.

Care Notes

With Care Notes, you can gather information related to Participants checking in. If you enable a Care Note prompt, anyone that prints a label with the Care Note token must enter information into a pop-up prompt before they can complete the check-in process (after you've selected Participants, but before you've printed tags).

Care Note content varies based on what the person checking in adds to the Care Note. If this token is on an applicable label, the Participant checking in can enter a Care Note before labels print.

Care Note Examples

Care Notes are great to gather information that might vary from week to week. Some examples include:

  • "Emergency text number"
  • "What campus are you worshiping at today?"
  • "Please let us know if you won't be in the Main Sanctuary"
