Forms Troubleshooting
Find answers to common problems when you build, share, and collect responses with custom forms.
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| I don't see Form Builder. | You need the Manage Forms permission. Ask an administrator to add it to one of your responsibilities. |
| I can't save a new form. | Enter a Form Title (Public). It's the only required field, and Save stays unavailable until you add it. |
| My image won't upload. | Use a PNG, JPG, or GIF file that's 10 MB or smaller. |
| My image looks cropped wrong in the Forms list. | The Form view, Card view, and Thumbnail versions are adjusted separately. In Forms, point to the version that looks wrong and edit it. See Add a Form Image. |
| I don't see a Share button. | The form is still a draft. Publish it first, and then Share appears. See Publish and Share a Form. |
| My changes don't show in Preview. | Preview shows the last saved version. Save the form, or click Save & Preview when asked. |
| The answers I entered in Preview aren't in the responses. | Nothing you enter in Preview is saved, so you don't have to clean up test answers. |
| I can't change a question's type. | People have already answered that question, so its type is locked. Add a new question with the type you want instead. |
| A form is missing from the Forms list. | Check the Past tab. Forms move there after their end date passes. |
| I don't see Download CSV. | The option appears after the form gets its first response. |
| Someone's earlier answers are gone. | They filled out the form again while signed in. Their new answers replace the earlier ones. |
| Some responses don't have a name or email. | Those people answered without signing in. To require sign-in for future responses, turn on Require a Login in the form's sharing options. |
