OnlineGiving.Org customizes MinistryPlatform integrations to each church, and you may need to request to enable some features through OnlineGiving.Org support request. All integrations are included and available to the church. Some of the integrations may be disabled by default as every church has different preferences.

Automatic Batching Update Announcement

OnlineGiving.Org adjusted its recording of batches with deposit records to the day after the transaction is completed. Batches for new transactions are created the day after the transaction processes. Like before, the batch creates with an associated deposit record. But, unlike before, batches now contain a finalization date.

Note: Automatic batching is disabled by default. If you want to enable MinistryPlatform batching, contact support@onlinegiving.org today to start using this feature.

Embedded Giving

When donors log in to the MinistryPlatform Portal, they typically use their personal device. The OnlineGiving.Org software is designed to live behind the MinistryPlatform Portal login and registration pages. After donors log in to the MinistryPlatform Portal and access a giving page, their authentication securely passes from the MinistryPlatform Portal to the OnlineGiving.Org embedded giving page when the page loads. This creates two sessions for the donor:
  1. A session for the MinistryPlatform Portal user; and
  2. A session for the OnlineGiving.Org user.

The OnlineGiving.Org session is specifically designed to terminate when the web browser is closed and/or the browser times out the user session. Meaning, the session is personal and short for security reasons.

OnlineGiving.Org also uses banking-level security for sessions and will auto-logout based on inactivity. Additionally, it only allows a single login session at any given time for a donor. Meaning, if a donor logs in to give on one device, all other devices are immediately signed out. This prevents session hijacking.

OnlineGiving.Org also trains church administrators to use the Virtual Terminal located in the church's OnlineGiving.Org control panel to complete gifts on behalf of the donor.

Initial Setup

You must have an account with OnlineGiving.Org before you configure the integration with MinistryPlatform. Text messaging services with OnlineGiving.Org require a separate Twilio phone number. If you already have a Twilio account, you need to purchase an additional number specifically for OnlineGiving.Org. The OnlineGiving.Org support desk will provide more details.

Cost

There is no charge from ACS Technologies for configuring the integration.

Fees from OnlineGiving.Org are assessed as per each church's individual contract agreement. Churches are required to use OnlineGiving.Org's giving Platform as their primary giving system.
