Pushpay

When people make donations through Pushpay to your organization, Pushpay automatically sends the corresponding transaction data into MinistryPlatform.

Pushpay works in real time, behind the scenes to make the integration experience seamless. Once enabled, Pushpay handles every donation and automatically creates the necessary donation records within your account.

Note: All transactions pass through as "Donations".

Cost

There is no charge from ACS Technologies for configuring the integration.

Fees from Pushpay are assessed as per each church's individual contract agreement.

Donor Matching

When a transaction is successful, the details send to MinistryPlatform to match donors using name, email, and phone number. If no match is found, Pushpay checks for a previous transaction sent by that Pushpayer. If that transaction was assigned to a donor in MinistryPlatform, it'll match this new transaction to that donor record too. If there isn't a match to a prior transaction, the donation matches to ***Default, Contact. You can then assign or create donors in Tools > Assign Donor.

Integration Setup

Tip: Best Practice is to create a NEW Company Contact using the Add/Edit Company tool, and then create a NEW User for each Integration. Set up your Giving Provider API Client before configuring this integration. Be sure to grant the new API User Administrative rights!
  1. Go to Administration > API Clients.
  2. Click New.
  3. Enter Pushpay for Display Name and Client ID.
  4. Enter a Client Secret. This is the "password" used by Pushpay to access your MinistryPlatform database. We highly recommend you use a password generator to create a unique and secure Client Secret.
  5. Select the Client User you created for this integration.
Note: The Client User you choose or create must have a Security Role with Administrator rights.
  6. For Authentication Flow, select Authorization Code, Implicit, Hybrid, Client Credentials, or Resource Owner. All other settings can remain the same.
  7. Click Save.

Follow the instructions on the Pushpay website to complete the integration setup.
