Printer Mappings

In the Printer Mappings area of the Admin Console in Check-In Suite, you can view and change printer mappings for name tag printing with the Check-In Kiosk. Based on the rooms in scope of the Check-In Suite Home settings, the list displays:

  • Building - Room
  • Group
  • Print Server
  • Printer Name

To filter the list to see only mappings related to one specific event, select the event in the Select active event to see group mapping drop-down list. To sort the grid by Room, Print Server, or Printer Name, click the corresponding column header.

Note: If you print to rooms through mapped printers but your event allows RSVP-only participants that aren't associated with a group (thus, have no room mapped), make sure to select and set a Default Printer in the Kiosk Settings dialog box.

Initial Setup

Printer Server records in the Platform determine the list of available Print Servers (Lookup Values > Print Servers). You create these when you install and verify the Print Service on a machine. In this context, a "Print Server" is a machine with the Kiosk Print Service installed, verified, and running.

  • The list of available Print Servers is based on the Print Servers set up.
  • The list of available Printer Names update dynamically based on the Print Server you chose and the printers available on that machine.
  • You can see these mappings in the Platform on the related Room and Room Reservation records. See Room Fields Related to Check-In Suite for details.

Unassign a Mapping

  1. From the Check-In Suite Admin Console, go to Printer Mappings.
  2. Click the X icon.
  3. Unassign the printer from the Room and Group.

Edit a Mapping

  1. From the Check-In Suite Admin Console, go to Printer Mappings.
  2. Click the pencil icon.
  3. Change the Print Server and/or Print Name.
