Bank Accounts

Download a Prenote File

Download a prenote file, and submit it to your bank to make sure your bank and employees' account information is properly set up.

You must have accounting administrator permissions to perform this task. See Accounting Roles and Permissions for more information. You must also own Realm Payroll, and direct deposit must be enabled to proceed.

A prenote file contains no amounts and is used as a test to make sure your bank and employees' account information is properly set up before a payroll run.

  1. In the top-left corner, click your ministry hub then Accounting. Then click Ledger Setup > Bank Accounts.
  2. Beside a direct deposit bank account, click Download Prenote File.
  3. Read all provided information, and click Download.
  4. Your prenote file will download as a TXT file.
  5. Upload this file into your banking software at least 3 business days before you submit a live file.
    Tip: You only need to download and submit a prenote file once until you gain new employees, or an existing employee changes his or her direct deposit information.
