Move Transactions

CAUTION: This process alters data. We recommend backing up your data before proceeding.

You can move transactions from an invalid account to a valid account. For example, if you have an existing valid account with transactions and change the account type to an invalid account, the transactions still exist. Move these existing transactions to a valid account.

The following are invalid accounts:
  • Heading
  • Total
  • Master
  • Retained earnings
  1. On the File menu in your PDS program, click System Processes > Move Transactions from an Invalid Account.
  2. From the Move Transactions Into Account drop-down list, select the account that you want to move the transaction into.
    Note: You cannot move transactions to another invalid account or to different account types. For example, you cannot move assets to liabilities.
  3. Click Begin Process.
  4. When the process is complete, click OK.
