Pledges & Donations for Annual Appeals

Follow these instructions to use the Create Pledge Tool to create a pledge for annual appeals in the Platform.

Create a Pledge for Annual Appeals

You can manage individual pledges and donations using the Create Pledge Tool. When you select a campaign that has the type "Annual Appeal", the tool displays relevant fields.

Go to where you can add a pledge.
- In the navigation menu, click Contacts.
- In the navigation menu, click Contributions > Donors.
- In the navigation menu, click Contributions > Pledges.
Open the record or select records, as needed.
From the Tools menu, select Create Pledge.
If you didn't open or select records, search for the contact.
For Pledge Campaigns, select your annual appeal pledge campaign.
For Pledge Statuses, select the pledge status from the drop-down list.
For Total Pledge, enter the total pledge amount.
For Pledge Frequency, select how often the person will give the pledge (weekly, monthly, and so on).
Enter the First Installment Date. You can also enter the Last Installment Date.
The Installment Amount is calculated for you.
If the campaign is set to credit parishes, you can select which parish or congregation a pledge should go to. If a parish is not designated, you can mark it as unknown.
You can add additional pledge information, such as the Pledge Source, Donation Batch, Donation Amount, Payment Type, Item Number, or Notes.
Click Submit.

Once you submit the information to create a pledge, you can use the same pledge information to create another one – just select the next contact or donor. Running totals of the number of pledges and amount pledged display at the bottom of the tool.

When you're ready, you can add donations toward an individual's pledge as you usually do.
