Test Your PocketPlatform App

You can access a Beta version of your app and test it out before anyone else sees it! Join our testing program.

Become an Apple iOS Beta Tester

When your app is ready for Beta testing, you'll receive a TestFlight link that can be used to install the app on your iOS device.
Note: Only people who have been added to the testing program will have access to the Beta version of your app. Provide their email address to Support and we'll add them to the program. Once they've been added, follow these steps to join.
  1. Install TestFlight from the App Store, if not already installed.
  2. Tap the TestFlight link on your iOS device.
  3. Tap Accept for the app you want to test.
  4. Open TestFlight on phone.
  5. Install the app you want to test.

Become an Android Beta Tester

When your app is ready for Beta testing, you'll receive an email inviting you to become a Beta tester.
Note: Only people who have been added to the testing program will have access to the Beta version of your app. Provide their email address to Support and we'll add them to the program. Once they've been added, follow these steps to join.
  1. Click the link in the invitation email and agree to become a Beta tester.
  2. After you agree to become a Beta tester, you'll be redirected to another screen with the option to download the app.
    Note: Be sure to choose the first option, "download it on Google Play." The other available link will download the public version of the app, not the Beta.
  3. Click Install.
  4. Select your device, if asked.
  5. You'll be prompted to verify your password. Enter your password and wait for the app to download.

Update Your App to the Latest Version

You might need to manually update your app to see the latest version.
  1. Open the Play Store, and click your account icon in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Manage apps & device.
  3. Select Updates available.
  4. Click Update next to the app.

Beta Tester Program

When you sign up for a Beta program through TestFlight or the Google Play Store, you may continue to receive Beta updates to the app while PocketPlatform continues to update and test new versions. If you or your users would like to leave the Beta program at any time, please follow the instructions provided by Google or Apple as described below.

Note: If you leave the Beta program, you'll stop receiving updates. If you would like to receive and test Beta versions of your app again, you will need to rejoin the program using the appropriate link.

Android: Leave Beta Through Google Play

To leave the Beta program on Google Play please follow the instructions found here: Try new Android Apps before they are officially released under the heading "Leave a Beta program".

Apple iOS: Leave Beta Through TestFlight

You have two options when leaving Beta through TestFlight.

  • Maintain your Beta affiliation: To temporarily leave the Beta track with TestFlight, install the latest final version of the app in the iOS App Store. When you are ready to rejoin the Beta program, reinstall the latest version of the Beta app in TestFlight.
    Note: You may still receive notifications that new Beta builds are available. You can install these updates if needed.
  • Leave the Beta program

Leave the Beta Program

  1. Open TestFlight.
  2. Tap the PocketPlatformapp.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
  4. Tap Stop Testing.
