Apple Developer Account Routine Requirements

Apple® has certain requirements for developer accounts. Here's some information to help you stay up to date.

* The developer account holder is the person who knows the Apple ID used to sign up for the Apple Developer Program.

Accept Apple's Latest Agreement

A couple of times a year, Apple releases new terms and agreements. To make sure you've accepted, the developer account holder* can complete the following steps.

  1. Log in to the Apple Developer website using the Apple ID of your developer account.
  2. If the Apple Developer Program License Agreement has been updated and needs to be accepted, a banner displays at the top of your screen. Click Review Agreement in the banner.

    • Your screen may look different than our screenshot based on your settings, but the message should be the same.
    • If you see the button labeled as "Contact [Name]" instead of "Review Agreement", make sure you have logged in as the developer account holder for your branded app.
    • The agreement displays in a new window. If you have a pop-up blocker enabled for your web browser, it may be blocked. If this happens, you can disable the pop-up blocker or add an exception to allow pop-ups from this website.
  3. Review the agreement, and click I Agree if you accept the terms.

Once you accept the agreement, the banner no longer displays. You are good to go!

Renew Your Apple Developer Program Membership

Apple requires all developers to renew their developer account each year. If the PocketPlatform team helped you set up your developer account, we will take care of this for you. Otherwise, it should only take a few minutes for your developer account holder* to renew the membership.

Note:

Most of our customers have a non-profit fee waiver applied to your Apple developer account. If your initial membership fee was waived due to your non-profit status, you will not be charged for renewal. However, your account holder will need to confirm that your organization remains eligible on an annual basis.

In rare cases, you may have a paid developer account that requires annual payment. If so, you can choose to opt in to auto-renewal under your Membership details. This will charge the default credit/debit card associated with the Apple ID each year.

  1. Log in to the Apple Developer website using the Apple ID of your developer account.
  2. If your Apple Developer Program membership has expired, a banner displays at the top of your screen.

    • Your screen may look different than our screenshot based on your settings, but the message should be the same.
    • If you see a button labeled as "Contact [Name]", make sure you have logged in as the developer account holder for your branded app.
    • If you don't see this message, you can set up the renewal (starting 30 days before the expiration date). That way, on the expiration date, your renewal will go into effect and you will not have to reinstate your apps.
  3. Go to Membership details, and click Renew Membership.

Once you renew the membership, the banner no longer displays. You are good to go for another year!
