D-U-N-S Number
A D-U-N-S® Number is a unique ID that is used to verify the legal status of your organization. Apple and Google require you to have a D-U-N-S Number to sign up for developer accounts. For more information from the company behind D-U-N-S, see the Dun & Bradstreet website.
Check for Your D-U-N-S Number
You may have a D-U-N-S Number without even knowing it! Use the Dun & Bradstreet D-U-N-S Number Lookup to see if it already exists.
If you believe your organization does not have a D-U-N-S Number, you can request one.
Request a D-U-N-S Number
- You must be able to provide the required information.
You may need to request a new D-U-N-S Number if your organization doesn't have one. If needed, you can learn more about the process.
- Open the D-U-N-S Request Form.
- Enter the ZIP Code and legal business name of your organization.
- If your organization isn't listed, click I don't see my business.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to create your D-U-N-S Number based on your needs.
If you have any issues or receive an error message concerning the D-U-N-S Number (such as the "Legal Entity" error), you can contact D&B Support by submitting a case or calling (866) 584-0283. You can also request a callback from Apple's D&B Support.
If you ever need to update your D-U-N-S Number information, you can do so in the D-U-N-S Manager.
Information Required to Request or Update Your D-U-N-S Number
To create a new D-U-N-S Number for your organization or update related information, you'll need at least two legal documents. The documents must match the correct legal business name at the current physical address.

To update or correct your number, you must provide at least two documents for the following updates:

D-U-N-S Number Troubleshooting
You may experience the "Legal Entity" issue when enrolling in the Apple Developer program. This common error occurs if your organization is not recorded in the D-U-N-S system as a corporation.
