D-U-N-S Number

A D-U-N-S® Number is a unique ID that is used to verify the legal status of your organization. Apple and Google require you to have a D-U-N-S Number to sign up for developer accounts. For more information from the company behind D-U-N-S, see the Dun & Bradstreet website.

Check for Your D-U-N-S Number

You may have a D-U-N-S Number without even knowing it! Use the Dun & Bradstreet D-U-N-S Number Lookup to see if it already exists.

  1. Go to the D-U-N-S Number Lookup.
  2. In the Search For drop-down list, select My company.
  3. In the Business Name form, enter your Legal Business Name and select your State.
Note: While you can search by address or phone number, we recommend entering only the required information in order to cast a wide net. That way, your organization displays even if the contact information has changed over the years.
  4. Click Search.
  5. If your organization displays, confirm that the organization name, address, and phone number are all correct.
Important: When you sign up for an Apple or Google developer account, you must enter the information exactly as it displays with your D-U-N-S Number. If the information displayed is incorrect, you can submit a case to get it corrected.
  6. Click Email D-U-N-S Number beside your organization, and fill out the form to have the D-U-N-S Number emailed to you.
  7. If your organization did not display in the search results, you can search again using other criteria, such as the address.

If you believe your organization does not have a D-U-N-S Number, you can request one.

Request a D-U-N-S Number

You may need to request a new D-U-N-S Number if your organization doesn't have one. If needed, you can learn more about the process.

  2. Enter the ZIP Code and legal business name of your organization.
  3. If your organization isn't listed, click I don't see my business.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your D-U-N-S Number based on your needs.
