An overview of managing personnel records in the Platform, including how to set up and track things like roles and assignments, ordination, benefits, resume items, and more.

As the governing body for its parishes, the diocese manages information about clergy, religious, and other personnel. You can track all the relevant information under the Personnel section.

  • Personnel can be catechists, clergy, religious, staff, teachers, or volunteers. In MinistryPlatform, these are called Personnel Types.
  • Personnel must be associated with a Contact record. The contact information from this record displays on the Personnel record. Likewise, you can see personnel information on the Personnel tab of the Contact record.
  • Personnel can have multiple assignments at different locations inside or outside of the diocese.

Who Can See Personnel?

Since the diocese maintains personnel records, the diocesan SPoC can control access to the information. Apply the Personnel Administrator security role to users who should be able to view and edit personnel records. If you need to control who can see different personnel types (for example, someone may have access to view all catechists but not clergy), you can create custom pages.
