11.0B Release

If you're part of the Preferred Client Program, you can download the latest desktop version in the Client Portal.

PDS Facility Scheduler 11.0B, releasing for desktop 12-14-22 and OnDemand 12-16-22, offers the following enhancements.

New and Improved Features

Delete Events on Certain Days of the Week
  • In the Delete Events process, we added options to delete events that occur on all days of the week or only certain days you select. For example, if you have a daily prayer group and only want to delete the events that occur on Monday, you can select Only these days and Monday.

Quick Emails and Text Messages
  • Create emails and text messages more easily. Go to the relevant section in the Reports window, click Add, select Letter/Email/Text, and select an option.

  • From here, you can send an email or text message based on your needs:
    • Simple Email - Best for a quick, basic message; for example, a quick update to your staff.
    • Advanced Email - Select a template to use or create your own. Include images and formatted text for a more formal look; for example, a newsletter to your parishioners.
    • Text Message - Quickly communicate via text. You must have text message providers set up with phone type keywords. Go to File > Setup > Email & Text Setup, and select the providers you need on the Text Message Provider Setup tab. Then, make sure each record you want to text includes one of the text provider phone types for the individual's mobile phone number.
  • Send your message to any record that has an email or text phone number listed. If you plan to use this message again in the future, you can select Save as a Report.

Emailing from PDS using Gmail
  • If you use a Gmail account to send emails from your PDS program, you must set up an App Password with Google. This security feature, which is required by Google, ensures that your Gmail account is used safely. App Passwords do not expire on a regular basis, but if you change your Google password, you must set up a new App Password at that time.

  • We have a help topic with steps on setting up an app password, and we thought it would be helpful to link to that topic within PDS. That way, you can get to the steps you need, when you need them! In your Email Server Setup window, click Set Up an App Password for Gmail to open the help topic. You will only see this link if your server includes "gmail.com".

Corrections

We fixed several issues that were reported internally to our team, as well as the following issue that affected some of our customers:
  • HTML emails that were created in Version 10 were not displaying after upgrading.
