Functions of Programs
- Programs organize your Events and Opportunities. You must assign each Event and Opportunity to a Program, which indicates the Ministry responsible for the Event.
- Donations distribute to Programs. In this sense, a Program is like a fund, designation, or a purpose code.
- You can use Programs with Milestones and Feedback. When someone makes a faith decision or submits a prayer request, you can identify the Program they attended when they submitted it.
We create Programs to answer questions like:
- What happened last week in the Student Ministry weeknight activity?
- How many people did we baptize in our Worship Services last year?
- How many children accepted Christ at VBS throughout the years?
- How much money did our benevolence fund receive?
- Who asked for prayer at our Senior luncheons?
Program Examples
The Worship Ministry Department operates three Programs:
- Choir & Orchestra Activities
- Guest Artist Concerts
- Plays & Pageants
The Church Leadership Ministry Department oversees a Program called Worship Services at each campus.
- Main Campus Worship Services
- East Campus Worship Services
- Downtown Campus Worship Services
- Spanish Worship Services (may happen at the main campus, but the Spanish Ministry oversees the services)
Not a Program
The following do not constitute a Program:
- Something you only do once. That is an Event.
- A group of people who never meet and can't collect money, but do some kind of Ministry together. That's a Group.
- Something you never stop doing. That thing is a Ministry Department, for example, Worship, Children, and so on.
