Print 1099s

Print two copies of your 1099—one for your vendor and another for the IRS.

  • You must have accounting administrator or the appropriate accounting specialist permissions to perform this task. See Accounting Roles and Permissions for more information.
  • Review your 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC data first.
  • Make sure all text is properly aligned with your 1099 forms.
  • Place a form inside your printer's tray.
Note: You are required to print two copies of your 1099—one for your vendor and another for the IRS.
CAUTION: If you have a combined total of at least 10 forms across your W-2s, 1099s, and 1095s, you must e-file them to meet the IRS's threshold requirement.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your ministry hub then Accounting. Then click Period End > Tax Forms.
  2. On the Tax Forms tab, select the reporting year.
    CAUTION: We update tax forms alongside our e-filing partner Nelco. If you select a previous year's tax form, you may see the name of the current year on the form. If you need to print a previous year's tax form, we advise that you visit the IRS website to locate, download, and complete the correct forms.
  3. Click the printer icon beside 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC, and select Print 1099-NEC (.pdf) or Print 1099-MISC (.pdf).

  4. Click the printer icon for a physical copy or Download for a PDF.

Print a 1096

Print a 1096 to accompany the IRS copy of your 1099s.

  • You must have accounting administrator or the appropriate accounting specialist permissions to perform this task. See Accounting Roles and Permissions for more information.
  • Review your 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC data first.
  • Make sure all text is properly aligned with your 1096 boxes.
  • Place a 1096 tax form into your printer's tray.
Note: You only need to print one 1096 to accompany the IRS copy of your 1099s.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your ministry hub then Accounting. Then click Period End > Tax Forms.
  2. On the Tax Forms tab, select the reporting year.
    CAUTION: We update tax forms alongside our e-filing partner Nelco. If you select a previous year's tax form, you may see the name of the current year on the form. If you need to print a previous year's tax form, we advise that you visit the IRS website to locate, download, and complete the correct forms.
  3. Click the printer icon beside 1096 for either 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC.

E-File 1099s

E-file your 1099s with Nelco.

  • You must have accounting administrator or the appropriate accounting specialist permissions to perform this task. See Accounting Roles and Permissions for more information.
  • Review your 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC data first.
  • Set up an e-filing account with Nelco.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your ministry hub then Accounting. Then click Period End > Tax Forms.
  2. On the Tax Forms tab, select the reporting year.
    CAUTION: We update tax forms alongside our e-filing partner Nelco. If you select a previous year's tax form, you may see the name of the current year on the form. If you need to print a previous year's tax form, we advise that you visit the IRS website to locate, download, and complete the correct forms.
  3. Click E-File beside either 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC.
  4. Click either form's Validation Report to review what you will e-file. This report alerts you of any missing information.
  5. Once you're satisfied, click Upload Forms to submit them to Nelco.
  6. Use Nelco's dashboard to complete the form submission.

Export 1099s

Export your 1099s as a CSV.

  • You must have accounting administrator or the appropriate accounting specialist permissions to perform this task. See Accounting Roles and Permissions for more information.
  • Review your 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC data first.
E-file to the new Information Returns Intake System (IRIS) for the 2023 tax filing season by exporting your data as a CSV.
Note: While we currently offer an e-file solution through our trusted partner Nelco to file all of your forms in one place, this provides an alternative that you can e-file instead.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your ministry hub then Accounting. Then click Period End > Tax Forms.
  2. On the Tax Forms tab, select the reporting year.
  3. Click the printer icon within the 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC row, and select Export 1099-NEC (.csv) or Export 1099-MISC (.csv).
Your 1099 is scheduled to export and will download shortly.
