Print a Sample Tax Form

To ensure your tax forms print properly, you may need to adjust the text to fit the form first. All adjustments are made in inches.

  • You must have accounting administrator or the appropriate accounting specialist permissions to perform this task. See Accounting Roles and Permissions for more information. (Accounting specialists can see Forms 1099 and 1096 only.)
  • Place a blank sheet of copy paper into your printer's tray.

Not all printers are the same, so it's important to print a sample to avoid wasting official form paper. Compare your sample with the form to determine which adjustments, if any, you need to make. If you purchase a new printer, follow these steps again.

  1. In the top-left corner, click your ministry hub then Accounting. Then click Period End > Tax Forms.
  2. On the Tax Forms tab, click Print Sample/Adjust Alignment, and select one of the following:
    • Form 1099

    • Form 1096

    • Form W-2

    • Form W-3

  3. Click Print Sample. A preview of your sample displays.
  4. Click the printer icon.
  5. Take the sample you just printed, and place a blank tax form form behind it. Hold them up to a light source to determine if adjustments are needed.
  6. If necessary, make adjustments (in inches) using the vertical and horizontal arrows.
  7. Repeat these steps until all of your information is aligned.
  8. Click Save.
