Plan Your Visit

Learn more about the Plan Your Visit widget, including its sections and what it does.

With the Plan Your Visit widget, new people can express interest in attending your church and start preparing for their visit. This is a two-step widget that requires visitors to provide and verify their email before continuing to the main form. Want to see the Plan Your Visit widget in action? Check out Widget Church!

Initial Form

The first thing people see on the Plan Your Visit widget is a short form that asks for their name and email address. Once they send the information, they'll receive a verification email. (You can customize the email to meet your church's needs.) After they verify their information, they're directed to back to the widget where they'll see the main form.

Note: This widget is focused on new visitors. Existing members are directed to log in rather than complete this form.

Main Form

The main form displays in the Plan Your Visit widget after people confirm their name and email address.

  • Those who complete the main form can automatically receive an email with information specific to the campus they selected.
  • You can automatically notify a designated contact for each campus regarding the planned visit.
  • The widget can suggest the best matched group under the Age and Grade Group drop-down list if you enter a date of birth when adding a child. The best match is determined by a group's Age in Months to Promote value.
    Note:
    • The widget displays age and grade groups associated with the selected congregation and the church-wide congregation.
    • Groups that have met their target size are not including in the Age and Grade Group drop-down list.
  • Depending on the response, the widget may create contact, participant, milestone assigned, and/or group participant records.
  • If someone with an email in MinistryPlatform tries to plan a visit, they'll receive a message prompting them to log in. The message reads, "Welcome back! If needed, update your profile, update your household, or reach out to let us know how we can assist."

Initial Form
The following fields are all required on the initial form:
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email

Main Form

Some additional information collected on the main form includes:
  • The campus or congregation.
  • The date and time of planned visit.
  • Additional contact information.
    Note: You must collect the name and either email address or mobile phone number to match the reponse to a contact record. You cannot change the required fields.
  • A spouse and/or children.
  • Pre-registration of children into an age or grade group.

Actions

Initial Form

Send
This action ollects the contact information and sends a verification email to the visitor. You can customize this email to use in your widget configuration.

Main Form

Complete Form
This action sends details specific to the preferred campus and, if configured, pre-registers children for classes or groups.
