Edit Your App Colors

  • You must have the PocketPlatform App Manager security role to do this.

You can manage the color of icons, buttons, and other elements in your PocketPlatform app. Your changes take effect within 15 minutes after you save, without the need for a recompile or support ticket!

  1. In MinistryPlatform, click the Bookmarks icon bookmark, and click PocketPlatform App Manager.
The App Manager opens in a new browser tab.
  2. Click Edit App Colors.
Your app's current color values display on the left, and an example preview pane shows on the right.
  3. For each color option, you can either enter a HEX value (also known as an HTML color code) or click the color square to select from a color picker.
    • Primary Brand Color is used for things like tabs, icons, active filters, notification bars, and outlines.
    • Dark Brand Color is used for things like inactive filters (in dark mode) and alternate buttons.
    • Light Brand Color is used for things like inactive filters (in light mode) and tabs on the Login screen.
    • Button Color is used for buttons, excluding alternate buttons.
As you make a choice for each option, the example preview updates to show what your color combination might look like in your app. You can scroll on the preview to see all the different elements that might display in the app. This is a good way to ensure the colors won't clash when they're used in your app!
Tip: Make sure your color combination is compliant with accessibility guidelines. This way, people with color blindness or other visual impairments can use your app with ease! There are many resources on the web that can help.
  4. Click Save.

Changes should display in your app within 15 minutes. To reload your app, you can either log out and log in again or fully close the app on your device and restart it.
