Mission Trips
This section houses everything you need to know about mission trips in MinistryPlatform, including where and how to manage them, which widgets to use, donations, scholarships, reporting, and more.
In the Platform
You can manage mission trips the Mission Trip section of the Platform, which contains the following pages:
- Mission Trips: A filtered page of the Pledge Campaigns page that only displays campaigns with a type of Mission Trip. This way, people can access this page without having access to all pledge campaigns.
- Mission Trip Pledges: A filtered page of the Pledges page that only displays pledges for campaigns with a type of Mission Trip. This way, people can access this page without having access to all pledges.
- Mission Distributions: A filtered page of the Donation Distributions page that only displays donation distributions with a pledge assigned for a campaign with a type of Mission Trip. This way, people can access this page without having access to all donation distributions.
From these Missions Trip pages, you can see the Pledge Campaign (mission trip) details, the Pledges (trip participants fundraising) for that campaign, and the progress towards their Pledge (fundraising) goal.
Mission Trip Widgets
With the mission trip widgets, authenticated individuals can apply for and manage their mission trips.
- Use the Mission Trip Application Widget to apply for a Mission Trip and pledge to raise a required amount.
- Use the My Mission Trips Widget to view and manage the Mission Trips you're associated with.
Setup
In MinistryPlatform, a mission trip is a type of Pledge Campaign and Event. Individuals who are going on the trip commit ("pledge") to raise money for the trip ("campaign"). The trip itself is an event that displays on the calendar with the dates of departure and return.
