Products & Options
In this section, you'll find everything you need to know about products and options for events in MinistryPlatform, including how to create products and option groups, option prices, promo codes and discounts, and more.
- Products control the payment total for an event registration. You can also set up free products (so, collect $0). An event must have a product to be live.
- You can create products so people can register for paid events (like a seminar or conference) or collect additional required (and sometimes paid) information.
- You can associate option groups with products to provide additional options during registration. For example:
- Free potluck (Product) with optional free childcare (Option Group).
- Free Bible study (Product) with required paid book materials (Option Group).
- Paid event (Product) with optional extras (Option Group).
- You can reuse products for multiple events, over multiple years. The only time this is not a good idea is if you use the maximum quantity in an option price because registrants from other events will apply to that quantity.
- When you reuse a product, you can add or inactivate option prices without issue. You can create a view within the Option Price tab of the Option Group to see which ones are active and which aren't. See Option Groups & Prices for more information.
