Add a Subheading

Subheadings specify how each core account is used. For example, under Assets you may have a subheading called Checking. Under that, you would list all accounts associated only with checking.

You must have accounting administrator permissions to perform this task.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your ministry hub then Accounting. Then click Ledger Setup > Chart of Accounts.
  2. Click the ellipsis icon beside a heading or subheading and select Add Subheading.
  3. Enter the new subheading.
Tip: When you subtotal a subheading, you summarize the information that prints on the accounting statement for a particular view. All accounts within that heading will be combined on your financial reports.
  4. Click Save.
Tip: As you add and organize your core accounts under subheadings, you may remember accounts that weren't entered before. Follow the instructions above, and select Add Core Account in step 3. Then, add a core account just as you do when you set up your segments.
