Impersonate Portal User Tool

Impersonate a user to complete certain record actions.

With the Impersonate Portal User Tool, you can:
- Log in to the Portal as another user.
- Assist other Portal users to troubleshoot issues, provide training, complete specific actions, and more on a church member's behalf (for example, cancel recurring online gifts).
This tool is available on multiple pages, including:
- Contacts: From the data grid, an open record, or a selection of records.
- Participants: From an open record or selection of records.
- Donors: From an open record or selection of records.
A SPoC can grant access to this tool.
While there is a Can Impersonate field on User records, that field is used to grant access to the Impersonate Platform User Tool and doesn't affect the Impersonate Portal User Tool.

Impersonate a Portal User

Note: The autofill drop-down list only displays if you impersonate an individual with a record.

Launch the tool using one of these options:
- Open a record, select Tools > Impersonate Portal User.
- Select multiple records, select Tools > Impersonate Portal User.
Select an option in the dialog box.
Note: After you choose an option, you can navigate to other Portal pages and remain logged in as the individual you're impersonating.
- Cancel Giving: Takes you to the individual's My Giving page on the Portal.
- Setup Giving: Takes you to the individual's Online Giving page on the Portal.
- User Account: Takes you to the individual's My User Account page on the Portal.
Complete your actions. You will remain logged in as this user until you logout.
When you're finished, click Logout.
