Notifications
A general overview on automated emails, or notifications, in MinistryPlatform.
MinistryPlatform sends automated emails each day, called notifications. The following information is true of all notifications in this category:
- These are run through scheduled jobs in the database.
- You can't see or edit the jobs in MinistryPlatform.
- You can see messages sent by these notifications in MinistryPlatform. Each time a notification sends a message, it creates a new message record (and recipient record). Recipient records do not display in the message selected for the notification.
- Notifications are configured using configuration settings.
- Support for tokens (merge fields) is limited to those specified for each notification.
- Unless otherwise noted, notification emails come from your DBMail account email. To change the email address associated with your DBMail account, contact Support.
- Anyone with access and permissions to your database server can check for errors in SSMS under SQL Server Agent. Simply view the history of the MP Daily or MP Quarter Hour jobs.
- Professional Services follows particular conventions when configuring these jobs. Only Professional Services or approved technicians should edit these.
- You can opt to send the notification to the heads of household. If you do, the notification sends to the two heads of household if they have a different email address than the registrant. Note: The messages automatically adjust to say "Parent of".
