Key Performance Indicators, also known as KPIs, generate a single numeric value.

KPIs are useful for single, at-a-glance numbers. To optimize KPIs, you can typically layer them with a View rather than pull them from the All Records list. KPIs support the same Aggregation Types as other Chart Types, like Sum and Count, but MinistryPlatform doesn't support percentages and other calculations. KPIs always display in blue text and so no one perceives them as good or bad data.

The Platform doesn't consider the Label Field for KPIs because it doesn't group the data or sort it into categories. However, you can change a KPI to some other Chart Type when you save the chart to your dashboard. So, you should always consider the Label Field when you create any type of chart.
