Registration Questions and Forms
Collect what you need from people as they register for an event, and send follow-up forms for details you need before the event.
When you add or edit a registration event, the Questions and Forms tab has two parts: questions people answer while they register, and optional follow-up forms sent with the registration confirmation email.
Questions Asked During Registration
Registrants answer these questions as they sign up. Use them for information you need to complete a registration, such as a child's T-shirt size or food allergies. You can choose from these question types:
- Text field
- Date
- Yes/No
- List
- Link to profile field, which links the question to an existing profile field
You can make a question required, ask it of everyone or only certain registration types, and add conditional questions to List and Yes/No questions to get more in-depth answers. To organize a long list, add section headers and drag questions into order.
To get started, see Add Custom Questions to a Registration Event. To see the answers, run a custom questions report or export a list of registrants.
Follow-up Forms
You can attach custom forms to an event as follow-up forms, and Realm sends them to registrants with the registration confirmation email. Use one for details you need before the event but don't need at registration, such as a medical release, photo consent, or a packing list. Follow-up forms are optional, and you can add more than one to an event. To attach one, see Attach a Follow-up Form to a Registration Event.
For each follow-up form, you choose:
- Form to send. Only published custom forms are listed. To build or publish a form, click Manage custom forms under the list to go to Forms. You see this link only if you have the Manage Forms permission.
- Who to send it to.
- The person who registered gets one email and fills out the form for each person they registered.
- Every registrant gets their own email and fills out their own form. For registrants without an email address, the email goes to the person who registered.
Each follow-up form shows how many people have responded so far. To get the answers for this event, click Download CSV on that form. Changes to follow-up forms are saved when you click Save Event.
Registration Questions or Custom Forms?
Registration questions work best for a few details collected during registration. For longer forms and surveys, such as a waiver for camp activities, build a custom form and send it as a follow-up form. For more about custom forms, see Forms.
