Widgets - Releasing December 2025

Wishing you a Merry Christmas with a brand new widget!

  • Do you have multiple mission trips that you want people to know about? Now, you can display them in the Mission Trip Finder! Congregants can find and sign up for a trip that fits their interests and schedule. And trip coordinators can manage upcoming mission trips, keeping trip information up to date without embedding multiple widgets on your website.

  • You can show trips for only certain congregations or ministries, or you can show all trips and allow congregants to filter by the available criteria.

  • The Mission Trip Application widget has been renamed to Mission Trip Details. This widget will now function as the details widget for the Mission Trip Finder widget. Congregants can click See Details in the Mission Trip Finder to see the mission trip application. This option is hidden if the trip is either full or not available for signup.
  • We have a new help topic all about the widget heading your way soon. Keep an eye out!

My Mission Trips Widget

  • You also have the option to show team progress to leaders in the widget. By default, this does not display in the widget. To enable it, set the Show Team Progress attribute to Yes when you configure the widget.

My Giving Widget

  • There's a new tag that displays on non-deductible donations in My Giving. That way, donors can clearly see which donations will not show on their annual giving statement.

My Invoices Widget

  • You can now filter invoices by congregation/parish in My Invoices. You can do this by default so individuals only see certain invoices when they view the widget, or you can allow congregants to filter using a drop-down list in the widget. This is great if you have multiple campuses or parishes and want to help people pay for the correct item.

Reminders

  • Live Chat in the Platform: SPoCs and Parish Reps can now chat with Support directly in MinistryPlatform! Live chat with Support is available Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST/EDT. When chat is not available, you can still contact Support in the usual ways.
  • Recent Change to Life Apps: In the last Life Apps release, we changed the names of the Care Life and Group Life applications to Care Connect and Group Connect. Volunteer Connect and Need Connect already followed this pattern. These are now collectively known as Connect Suite. Check out the Life Apps release notes for details.
  • Portal access will end December 31. The Portal has served many churches for years. But now that its functionality is available in newer, modern tools like PocketPlatform, Connect Suite, and Widgets, we are disabling access. For details, see End of Portal Access.
