Finder Widgets and Details Widgets

Finder Widgets work in tandem with their corresponding Details Widgets. So, the Group Finder widget works with the Group Details widget, the Opportunity Finder works with Opportunity Details, and the Event Finder works with Event Details. Here's how:

  • When you set up a Finder Widget, you'll need to include the URL for your corresponding Details Widget webpage.
  • When someone clicks the See Details button for the group, opportunity, or event they're interested in, the Finder Widget does the heavy lifting and appends the Detail ID to the detail page URL you included. You do not need to add any specific IDs to your Finder Widget. Just set it (to the Details Widget web page URL) and forget it! The formatting would look like this, for example: https://yourchurch.com/group-details?id=25

Example showing the See Details button on three different group results in the Group Finder

  • The individual is taken directly to the Detail Widget for the group, opportunity, or event they selected.
  • When you set up the corresponding Details Widget, you'll need to include the URL for your Finder Widget webpage.
  • When the individual is ready to go from the Details page back to the Finder page, selecting Back to... takes them to the Finder Widget URL so they can check out more options.

Note: Because the Finder and Details Widgets work together, you must set them up at the same time so they function correctly.
