PocketPlatform - Released April 6-7, 2026

All the new features are opt-in, so you can decide what to introduce to your app users during this busy season. Happy Easter!

  • You can now show your mission trips in the app! There are several new screens you can add:
    • Mission Trips List is just like the Mission Trip Finder widget. App users can search for available mission trips, which are sorted by soonest dates first.
    • Mission Trip Detail is just like the Mission Trip Detail widget. Once app users find a mission trip they're interested in, they can tap it to see more information.
    • Mission Trip Registration provides a way to register like the Mission Trip Detail widget. App users can submit an application.
    • My Mission Trips is just like the My Mission Trips widget. App users who are logged in can view progress for their mission trips.
    • My Donors provides a way for mission trip participants to see who has contributed to their trip like the My Mission Trips widget. This includes each donor's contact information as long as it isn't marked as unlisted.
    • Team Progress provides a way for mission trip leaders to see their team's progress like the My Mission Trips widget. This includes trip participant fundraising information. If a user is not a leader, they only see their own progress in the app, not anyone else's.

App User Navigation Editor

  • We're continuing to expand the App Manager with new features, enabling you to do more with your app! You can now manage your user navigation, the special menu that users access in the top-right corner of the app. In the App Manager, you can rename, sort, add, and remove items, and specify an optional icon for each item. You can even create conditional logic that only displays the link if the user matches certain criteria. There's so much power at your fingertips! For steps and details, see Edit Your User Navigation.

Dashboard Recipes

  • If you use Volunteer Connect, your volunteers can now see upcoming schedule assignments in the app. In the App Manager, there's a new recipe called Volunteer Connect Assignments under the User Recipes section. All you have to do is drop it on your dashboard! Then, volunteers will see assignments they need to take action on, along with the ones they've previously accepted or declined. Volunteers can tap View Details to go directly into Volunteer Connect (without re-authenticating!), where they can see information about their team and schedules.

  • We created a handy new recipe that displays a title, optional image, and a magic link to the current day's reading. The link updates automatically each day, saving you time and effort! And users get a quick and easy way to open their app and jump to their scripture reading. If there's no reading plan for the current day, the recipe does not display. You can find this recipe in the App Manager under General > Current Reading Plan Day.

Events

  • During event registration, PocketPlatform now links form responses to the Event Participant record for the associated participant.
  • When the maximum quantity for a product option price is exceeded, the app now displays the option as disabled. That way, people know that it was an option but is no longer available. This matches the way it works in widgets.
  • We fixed an event registration issue that occurred with a specific combination of configurations for a product option price.

FastPass

  • When checking in for an upcoming event, canceled and abandoned entries no longer display in the list. Now, app users will only see entries related to events where the Participant Status is Registered, Attended, or Confirmed.

Groups

  • We fixed an issue where tapping a group chat notification did not properly open the app to the Group Chat screen.
  • We fixed an issue that affected certain configurations of PocketPlatform where users were able to sign up for full groups in some scenarios.

Language Packs

  • A recent update to iOS caused an issue with our multi-lingual support, resulting in users seeing the English language pack regardless of their device language or locale settings. We've corrected this so that users who have their device set to French, German, Portuguese, or Spanish will see the correct language.
  • We enhanced the Link Generator tool so that a SPoC can create magic links with special functionality. This is available in the App Manager (for links from the dashboard or navigation) as well as in the Platform (for links on announcements, lists of lists, and so on). You can select from these options to automatically create the link:
    • App Browser – Previously, you could create a link to any website that opened in the device browser. This allows you to create a link to a website and keep the user in the app! This is handy for things like a Church Staff page.
    • Congregation Giving – This is for use in a diocesan context, where the Parish Selector is enabled and each parish has their own unique giving link. While you could create a recipe or button in the app that links directly to one parish's giving URL for every parish, this allows you to have a single recipe or button! And the link will automatically change to the active selected parish's giving URL.
    • Connect Suite – This creates a link directly to Connect Suite, and the user is automatically authenticated. Note that this does not check if the user has access to Connect Suite, so you should use the Recipe or Link Conditions to show or hide it appropriately.
    • Contact Lookup – This creates a link directly to Contact Lookup. Note that this does not check if the user has access to Contact Lookup, so you should use the Recipe or Link Conditions to show or hide it appropriately.
    • MP eGiving – This creates a smart link to MP eGiving that authenticates the user. If the church has Apple Pay enabled, the link will open in the app. Otherwise, the link will open in the device browser.
    • Sermon Notes – This opens automatically to the Sermon Notes for the most recent sermon.
Here's an example of the Link Generator tool where you've searched for "Connect Suite" and you see the option in the results:
