Correct Opportunity Responses Assigned to the Default Contact

Clean your data by updating opportunity response records from the default contact record to an actual contact.

It's important to reassign opportunity response records assigned to the default contact record to a real contact record to keep your data clean.

  1. In the navigation menu, click People Lists > Responses.
  2. Find response records assigned to the default contact record.
    Search for ***Default, Contact in the Display Name column, or create a view to find records assigned to the default contact.
  3. To create contact and participant records for those not in the database, use the Add/Edit Family tool.
    1. In the Tools menu, click Add/Edit Family.
    2. To add to an existing family, search for the family in the search bar, click Add New Family Member, enter the appropriate information, and click Save.
    3. To add a new family, click New Family, enter the appropriate information, and click Save.
    4. Repeat this process as needed.
    5. When finished, close the tool.
  4. To reassign existing contact and participant records, manually update the response record.
    1. Click to open the response record.
    2. Click Edit Record.
    3. Update the record using the information from the Website Submission section of the response record.
    4. Click Save.
    5. Repeat this process as needed.

You finished reassigning opportunity responses from the default contact to their rightful participant record! Now when you search for records assigned to the default contact, no records should display.
