Set Up Special Days and Holidays

You can add noteworthy days to your calendars, such as staff birthdays and holidays. These can be helpful to know when scheduling events. Set up important dates manually (one-at-a-time) or automatically (for the entire year).

  1. On the Administration tab, click Special Days & Holidays.
  2. To add a date manually, click Add Date at the top.
  3. Enter a name for the special day or holiday.
  4. Enter or select a date or date range.
  5. If you want to set a calculation for next year, select an option from the drop-down list.
Note: This option determines when your special day or holiday displays on the Home Screen. These predefined calculations cannot be modified or deleted.
  6. At the bottom, select which event calendars you want the special day or holiday to display on. To quickly select or clear all calendars, click Mark All or Clear All.
  7. Select how you want the special day or holiday to print on calendars.
  8. Click the browse icon yellow folder to locate the image that you want to associate with the special day or holiday. To use the predefined image for this special day or holiday, click Use Default.
  9. If you'd like, select the default color and font style for this day. For more information, see Display Colored Background or Text on Calendars.
  10. At the top, click Save.

Once you save, the list is reordered by date.

Set Up Special Days and Holidays Automatically

You can set up a future year's calendar automatically rather than entering each holiday manually.

  2. In the navigation pane, click Auto Setup for New Year.
  3. Enter the date range you want to add special days and holidays in.
  4. Select how to set up your special days and holidays:
    • Repeat dates already in the list—Sets up dates for your date range based on items previously set up.
    • Select predefined dates—Sets up dates recognized as holidays and Holy Days.
  5. If you repeat dates already in the list, select whether to use the same pictures, colors, and calendars associated with each date.
  6. If you use predefined dates, select which list(s) to use dates from. Click View Dates to see the dates included in the list. Click Show on which Calendars to select which event calendars should use the list.
  7. Click Add/OK.
