Portal Online Giving
Note: Widgets offer a compelling, integrated, and customized experience for your users. Eventually, they'll replace the Portal, so check out Transitioning from the Portal when planning your next steps. Please note that there will not be an Online Giving Widget or Missions Trip Giving Widget, mainly because we have so many amazing online giving vendors that provide cutting edge online giving features and seamlessly integrate with MinistryPlatform.
The Portal's Online Giving page allows individuals to give financially toward your church via a one-time donation. You have the option of allowing e-checks, debit cards, and credit cards. Giving Gateways
- We only support Authorize.net accounts.
- Payment information is passed directly to Authorize.net and is not stored in MinistryPlatform.
- If you are unable to use Authorize.net, you must set the Configuration Settings for PORTAL: OnlineGivingUrl and/or PORTAL: MissionTripGivingUrl. Enter the URL of your online giving provider to redirect congregants to the appropriate payment page. Otherwise, an error message will display.
How It Works
- Donors who are logged in have some basic contact information auto-filled for them.
- The Congregation field chosen in the online giving process filters what Program the gift is going to. The Congregation is not saved in the record; it's simply used to select the Program, which is saved in the Donation record.
- Donors will receive an email receipt via your Online Giving email template.
