Group Details
Explore the Group Details widget, including information about its sections and what it does.
When someone selects a group from the Group Finder widget, the Group Detail widget opens and displays additional information.
- Fields display in Group Detail widget dynamically based on which fields were populated when the group was created.
- When a group has a location, the widget displays the address and an embedded map. If the location is left blank, the widget displays the address and an embedded map of the group's congregation or parish.Note: Maps only display when latitude and longitude are included.
- If using a mobile device, an additional Open in Maps option displays, allowing step-by-step directions to the location. This option launches directions in the device's default map application.
- If someone signs up or inquires about a group, a process sends an email to the group's primary contact. You can also include an optional attribute that notifies both the group's primary contact and anyone in the group with the leader group role type.
- If someone signs up or inquires about a group, you can configure an email response to send them from the widget. The email response is determined by the message ID set up during configuration.
- You can customize buttons, labels, and more with application labels. See Configuring Group Details to learn how.
Sections
- Name
- The name of the group.
- Description
- Information about the group.
- Capacity
- The number of current group participants compared to the group's target size. For example, "Capacity: 7 of 10" means that there are seven claimed spots and three available spots left for this group. Note: Pending inquiries are not included in the group's current size unless your configuration code includes the attribute countgroupinquiries="true". If the target size is blank on the group's record, this row does not display in the Group Detail widget.
- Group Leader(s)
- This displays the photos and full names of any group leaders and primary contacts. If no photo is attached to their contact record, a stock image displays instead.
- Location
- The group's Offsite Meeting Address field.
- Sign Up As
- This allows the person logged in to select their personal record or the record of a family member. The information of the selected record autofills when they make contact or sign up for a group.
Actions
- Contact This Group
- This creates a group inquiry record. Group leaders and primary contacts can then see and manage the pending group inquiries in the My Groups widget. Note: An inquiry does not require the participant to log in.
- Sign Up For This Group
- This creates a group participant record with the group role indicated in MinistryPlatform configuration. (See Configuring Group Details for details.) Group leaders and primary contacts can then see and manage these new additions in My Groups. Note: The participant must be logged in to sign up.
