Opportunity Reminder Notification
Send Opportunity Reminders prior to an Opportunity to Participants with a Response or Heads of Household.
- Frequency: Daily.
- Recipients: Any Participants with a Response in the Opportunity with an email on file. If you select Send to Heads, the Contacts who are Head of Household in the Registrant's Household receive the Reminder.
- From/Reply To: The Opportunity's Primary Contact. If there is no Primary Contact, then MinistryPlatform uses the Contacts identified in Message Template. If there are no Contacts in the Template, MinistryPlatform uses Support. The name displayed for email recipients is the sender's Nickname Last Name.
- Contents: An email reminding responders of an upcoming Opportunity.
- How to Stop: Leave the Date To Remind field empty in the Event, or set the SERVICES, OpportunityReminderNotificationTemplateID configuration setting to 0 (zero) to turn off Opportunity Reminders.
- Method for Sending: MinistryPlatform.
- Logging in Messages: Daily. MinistryPlatform copies the Template Message amd logs the Recipients.
- Configuration Settings: The SERVICES, OpportunityReminderNotificationTemplateID configuration setting specifies the message template for notifications.
- Merge Fields Supported:
- Subject & Body: [Nickname], [Opportunity_Title].
- Body only: [Last_Name], [Publish_Date], [Opportunity_Description], [Group_Name], [Event_Title], [Opportunity_Details_URL], [Opportunity_Date].
- Initial Configuration: For each Opportunity, set the Date To Remind and make sure there is a Message Template ID in the Configuration Setting (see above).
- Optional Configuration: Create your own Opportunity-specific Message Template and insert your optional Reminder Message.
Opportunity Fields
When creating your Opportunity, you can set up a reminder email using the following fields.
- Date to Remind: The date you want to send the reminder. This date must be in the future. You can't set this to today's date. As long as the Response is open (Closed is set to No), recipients will receive the email.
- Optional Reminder Message: You can override the Default Reminder Message with an Opportunity-specific Reminder Message.
- Send to Heads: This sends the Message to two Heads of Household in the Respondent's Household if they have a different email address than the Registrant. The messages automatically adjust to say "Parent of."
Other Notes
- The reminder does not send if the Respondent is assigned to Default Contact.
- The reminder does not send if the Respondent has a Response that is closed (Closed is set to Yes).
- If set to Send to Heads, the reminder sends to Heads, even if the Respondent does not have an email address on their Contact record.
- The reminder only sends for current or future Opportunities. They do not send for past Opportunities.
- This runs once during your nightly routine, so it must have at least one-day lead-time to run.
- If you change the Date to Remind value to a future date after the routine sends a reminder, another reminder sends.
