Portal - Released March 4-5, 2024
We're wrapping up all the necessary changes to the Portal to comply with PCI standards.
PCI Compliance
- If you haven't already received the Portal changes that were released in January, those will be applied to your system. As a reminder, those changes include the following:
- Congregants will now enter their payment information for online giving, mission trips giving, and registrations in a new pop-up window instead of directly in the Portal. After the payment is processed, congregants are directed back to the Portal screen.
- Congregants will no longer be able to create new recurring gifts. However, existing recurring gifts will continue to process.
- If you use NMI and want to continue processing payments, you must generate a security key in your payment gateway control panel and add it to your configuration settings in MinistryPlatform. Otherwise, you will not be able to process payments. Here are instructions on how to do that. Need help generating your security key? Please contact support@onlinegiving.org.
Redirect Your Portal Links
- Whether you're moving away from the Portal or switching over to Widgets, you may still have some Portal links floating around on the Internet. To avoid broken links, you can set up redirects in your configuration settings. For details on those settings, see Portal Configuration Settings.
We highly recommend switching over to Widgets to enable the best experience for your users (and you!).

Reminder about Supported Browsers: Before accessing Widgets and other MinistryPlatform applications, make sure your browser is up-to-date. Otherwise, you may see errors.
The technical details: TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 are no longer supported for our services. To use our applications, the browser must be on TLS 1.2 or higher. For this reason, we suggest using the most updated browser version.
