Promotion
Promotion is the process that moves children and students to the next Age or Grade Group. There are two types of promotion, including:
- Age-Based Promotion for babies through preschool
- Grade-Based Promotion for school children

Here's how promotion works, technically speaking. When a child is promoted, their existing Group Participant record is updated. The Group ID changes from the old group to the new group. If you prefer to end-date the child's group and create a new record, an administrator can change the SERVICES, WeeklyPromotionsByUpdate configuration setting to No.
