Respond to an Assignment Request

When you're added to a published schedule, you can either accept or decline the request.

From the notification email:
  1. Open the email notification you received. The subject line is "Assignment Request:" along with your team name.
    One or more assignment request display for each role you were assigned to on the schedule.
  2. If you can serve an assignment for the specified date and time, click Accept. Otherwise, click Decline.
    You're directed to a landing page in your browser where you can view the confirmation of your selection.
  3. If you have more than one assignment request, click Accept or Decline beside one of them, and you're directed to a landing page in your browser where you can respond to any other requests.
  4. If you have multiple assignment requests and you can serve all of them, click Accept All at the top of the list. If you can't serve any of them, click Decline All.
    Note: If your volunteer coordinator or leader has changed or removed your assignment, you are directed to a landing page with a note letting you know that the assignment request is no longer valid. You also get an email if your assignment is changed or removed.
  5. To go to Volunteer Connect and see the full schedule details, click Log in to manage assignments.
From your Volunteer Connect dashboard:
  1. Log in to Volunteer Connect.
  2. Under Assignment Requests, locate the event and role you were asked to serve for.
  3. If you can serve the assignment, click the checkmark in a circle icon. Otherwise, click the X in a circle icon.

The assignment(s) you accept move under your Upcoming Serving Times. The volunteer coordinator and team leader see whether you accept or decline your assignment request.

If you need to change your response, you can do so on from the Volunteer Connect dashboard.
