Using RemitPlus with BMT
Everything you need to know about importing information from RemitPlus to the Batch Manager Tool.

Check Scanner
RemitPlus has different scanner requirements than the BMT. For BMT scanner requirements, see Install Your Check Scanner. Your RemitPlus scanner can handle both checks and cash envelopes. You don't need a separate scanner for the BMT and/or the envelopes. You can use it to scan envelopes that contain cash since those items aren't transmitted to the bank.
ICL Files
Neither RemitPlus nor MinistryPlatform talk to your bank directly in any way. Additionally, RemitPlus does not support Canadian numbers on checks.
When you scan checks with RemitPlus, you can generate two different file types:
- XML: You can upload to, review, and finalize with this file type in the BMT. Then, it is available for reports in the Platform.
- X937: You can upload this file type (also called an ICL file) to your bank for processing. This process varies from bank to bank and is something that you work out with your bank as you transmit your first several RemitPlus test files.
Distributions
RemitPlus can only support four designations (funds or programs). If you need more, you must add them once they are in the BMT. We recommend that you assign all your distributions through the BMT rather than RemitPlus, as there is no limitation on the number of funds or programs you can allocate. This also helps streamline the entire process.
