Envelope Matching
Information on envelope matching when importing information into the Batch Manager Tool.
Here is some important information to consider regarding envelope numbers in an import file you want to import into the BMT:
- If the envelope number matches only one donor - MinistryPlatform assigns the donation to that donor, regardless of congregation or parish.
- If the envelope number matches more than one donor - MinistryPlatform uses the selected Default Campus record to assign the donation to the matching donor that belongs to that congregation or parish.
- If the envelope number matches more than one donor and none of the donors match the default campus, MinistryPlatform assigns the donation to the Default Contact record.
- If the envelope number matches more than one donor and more than one of the donors match the default campus, MinistryPlatform assigns the donation to the Default Contact record.
- If the envelope number does not match any donors - MinistryPlatform assigns the donation to the Default Contact record.
Note: MinistryPlatform considers canceled envelope numbers in this matching process. That means, if donors are in the same household, you must now clear the duplicate envelope number to properly match the household's donations.
