Automatically place eligible volunteers in roles using the Smart Schedule!

  • After you create a schedule, you can use the Smart Schedule to fill in volunteer roles automatically. It places volunteers in roles based on their preferences, past behavior, and schedule patterns. Of course, you can edit the schedule before publishing to be sure it's exactly how you want it. The Smart Schedule can provide a great place to start!
  • Here's how it works:
    • Step 1 - Find all eligible volunteers. Filter out any volunteers who cannot be scheduled based on their unavailable dates (if set).
    • Step 2 - Order eligible volunteers for roles. If a volunteer can serve in multiple roles but one role is prioritized, they will be placed in the prioritized role first. Volunteers will be ordered by those who have never served first, then by last serve date for this team.
    • Step 3 - Add volunteers to the draft schedule. Fill the roles up to the minimum number needed (if set).
    • Step 4 - Fill any remaining openings.
    • Step 5 - Create the final schedule.
  • For more details and step-by-step instructions, see Volunteer Connect Smart Schedule.

Volunteer Connect

  • Volunteers can now set date ranges when they are unavailable for scheduling. That way, schedule coordinators know who can and cannot be scheduled on a certain day. For details, see Edit Your Volunteer Serving Preferences.
  • Now, schedule coordinators can set the order of roles that display on a schedule. When creating a schedule, you can define the role then drag and drop it in the list where you want it to show up. For example, you may want all the greeter roles to show first on the schedule, followed by parking lot attendants, followed by ushers.

Group Connect

  • Based on your feedback, we switched the order of the last two tabs in Group Connect. The Attendance tab now displays before Sign-ups. This is especially convenient when you want to take attendance on a mobile device, where it often takes an extra click to get to the final tab.

Connect Suite & Record Security

  • SPoCs and technical users: Your TM.LifeApps and TM.ConnectSuite API clients now have a dedicated Connect Suite API user. That means you'll see changes made via Connect Suite reflected in the audit log. If you have record security in place for any records previously visible to the default API user, make sure you give access to the Connect Suite API user in order to avoid disruptions.

Reminders

  • App users are now sent seamlessly between Connect Suite and PocketPlatform.
  • Portal access has ended. You can still use portal redirects if needed. See this article for details.
