Opt Someone Back In to Email

Restore a person's ability to receive email from your site when the reason they were opted out allows it.

  • You must be an administrator.
  • Before you opt someone back in, make sure the person wants to receive email from your site again. Only opt them back in with their permission.

The Opt Back In button only appears for opt-outs you are allowed to reverse — typically people who unsubscribed themselves. If the button does not appear next to a person's name, the opt-out cannot be cleared from this page. See Email Opt-Out Reasons for which reasons allow opt back in.

  1. Click Communications > Opt-out Management.
  2. Select the Email Opt-Outs tab.
  3. Find the person you want to opt back in.
Sort by Contact Information or Opt-Out Date to make them easier to locate.
  4. Click Opt Back In next to the person's name.

The person is removed from the Email Opt-Outs list and can receive email from your site again. The list refreshes automatically and the count next to the tab name decreases by one.

Note: If the Opt Back In button does not appear next to a person you expected to restore, the opt-out reason does not allow restoring from this page. Common examples include hard bounces and other system-generated opt-outs. The person's email address may need to be corrected, or the person may need to contact your church directly.
CAUTION: You cannot opt someone back in to text messages from this page. A person who opted out of texts must text START or UNSTOP to your church's texting number to opt themselves back in.
