Send congregants and leaders to the right place—Group Life or Volunteer Connect!

  • In the My Groups widget, congregants and leaders will see a Volunteer Connect button for any groups that are marked as volunteer teams. All other groups show the GroupLife button, if your widget is configured to do so.

  • For more information about setting up Volunteer Connect, see Get Started with Volunteer Connect.
    Note: Groups will show the Volunteer Connect button if they have a Group Type with Volunteer Group set to Yes. If you don't plan to use Volunteer Connect, make sure all your Group Types have this option set to No. That way, the My Groups widget will show the correct button and go to GroupLife instead.

    Also note that, in the next Life Apps release, volunteer teams will no longer display in Group Life. So now's the time to make sure your groups are set up correctly!

Custom Forms

  • When you collect images through custom forms, the images are now resized to a maximum of 2,000px instead of 800px to retain their quality. This way, images can be used for large displays and print materials when needed.

Event Detail & Registration

  • We updated event registration to better respect maximum quantities on required option prices. Now, if a required option group exists and all options within it have reached their maximum, registration will not be available. This is just like what happens when an event's expected participant limit is met.

Group Details

  • We improved the experience when inquiring or signing up for a group. Now, after someone submits their request, the form is replaced with a success message, and they have the option to send another inquiry or sign up another person if needed.

Invoice Details & Payment

  • The Make Changes and Back to Event Details buttons now direct the user back to the Event Detail page using the configured query parameter ?eventID=. If you don't configure a value, the default parameter ?id= is used instead.

Make a Pledge Widget

  • We improved the experience when a pledge is created. Now, when someone enters their information and clicks Create Pledge, the form is replaced with a success message, and they have the option to create another pledge if needed.

  • We also added a [display_name] token that you can use in the mpp-pledge-campaign.pledgeFormSuccessMessage application label. That way, you can merge in the First and Last names from the response form to personalize the success message.
    • When an authenticated user selects someone from the drop-down list, the display name merges in as last name, first name and suffix (like Smith, John Jr.).
    • When the user fills out a blank form, the display name merges in as first name and last name (like Jane Smith).

My Household Widget

Opportunity Finder

  • Ministries with a past End Date no longer display in the Opportunity Finder. If a ministry has a future End Date or no End Date, it will display in the widget as long as it has Available Online set to Yes.

Prayer & Feedback

  • The verification link in confirmation emails is now single-use to prevent duplicate entries in the Platform. If someone clicks the link after they've verified, they'll see the message, "This request has already been verified".

Upcoming Change to Life Apps: In the next Life Apps release, we plan to change the names of the Care Life and Group Life applications to Care Connect and Group Connect. Volunteer Connect and Need Connect already follow this pattern. These will be collectively known as Connect Suite. We'll announce when that change occurs through Life Apps release notes but wanted to give you a heads up here as well!
